What is content?
it can be basic text
it can be a picture or photo like the GRME Records logo you saw at the beginning of this blog post
it can be a link to one of your other posts or other content along with a description, like our producers website www.thelokkzmusic.com where he sells beats, custom beats, mixing, mastering, and runs his very own blog.
content can be a video, even a simple one like we've included below
"Who's hyped about the new tracks coming out?"
"This instrumental is so lit!!!"
but what is content for?
no matter what you do in life, content creation these days has become a very essential part of our work flows. you can work at McDonalds, but without those menus, commercials, advertisements, and coupons no one would even know what McDonalds was. you can Make music, but without Flyers, music videos, mp3's, posters, t-shirts, etc, no one would know your music exists.
Basically what we are saying is unless you try to catch peoples attention, you will never get their attention. no one can find your music on the internet if it isnt there, they cant go to your concerts if there are no concerts to go to.
How much content do i need to create before people really see me?
a music artist can make one song sure, but after a while, how many people are talking about that one song? or about that artist who made that one song for that matter? not many.
this doesnt mean you have to create a new song every day, but you do need to keep your fanbase engaged, and watching what you do so when you do release your next song, they see it right away and can help you spread it to your new potential fans. see what we mean?
we also say every single day because from a professional stand point, would you hire someone that has done their work once? or someone who has done it over and over and over? it takes 5000 hrs on average of practice and repetition to master something. so say you are trying to catch the eye of say.....a record label. an artist with one song, very little content created, no fan engagement, and no momentum to their growth, is not likely going to catch the attention of a record label. you need to be active active active!
